Drop your graphics to level 3-5
Reduces straw mesh noise that hides the metal shaft. Use the Roblox graphics slider in the client settings.
Enable Shift-Lock or first-person
Stabilizes the camera while sweeping the pile. Shift-Lock on PC is the community default for long search blocks.
Perimeter first, then the center mound
Pile edges contrast the needle more than dense straw. Sweep the perimeter first, then orbit the center mound.
Use the 20-minute reset rule
Avoids eye-adaptation drift on yellow textures. After 20 minutes of fruitless sweeping, stop or switch faces.
Scan ground at your feet
Players miss needles that 'rolled out' of the peak. Glance at the ground around your avatar regularly.
Split the pile with friends
20-player servers should split North / South / East / West + Peak + Ground ring. Otherwise 20 hats share one slope.
